Cyborg - By definition:
A Cyborg - portmanteau of cybernetic and organism - is a being with both organic and biomechatronic body parts.
The term was coined in 1960 by Manfred Clynes and Nathan S. Kline.
A "Cyborg" is not the same thing as bionic, biorobot, or android; it applies to an organism that has restored function or enhanced abilities due to the integration of some artificial component or technology that relies on some sort of feedback. While cyborgs are commonly thought of as mammals, including humans, they might also conceivably be any kind of organism.
Interestingly, the physical attachments that humans have with even the most basic technologies "have already made them cyborgs".
In a typical example, a human with an artificial cardiac pacemaker or implantable cardioverter-defibrillator would be considered a cyborg, since these devices measure voltage potentials in the body, perform signal processing, and can deliver electrical stimuli, using this synthetic feedback mechanism to keep that person alive.
Implants, especially cochlear implants, that combine mechanical modification with any kind of feedback response are also cyborg enhancements. Some experts even cite such modifications as contact lenses, hearing aids, smartphones, or intraocular lenses as examples of fitting humans with technology to enhance their biological capabilities.
The Cyborg Revolution Coin Series:
The 2021 was the first in the Series titled - "Cyborg Revolution Coin" depicted a cyborg alien, come to Earth on a mission of conquest.
Gaining a foothold on our planet, the cyborg-aliens attempt to transform humanity into a hybrid man-machine as well, and they’re starting with breeding their own.
The five Coin Series, issued one coin annually tells the story of what follows the Cyborg invasion.
The 2022 Coin features a "Baby Cyborg", followed by "Cyborg Dog" (2023) "Cyborg Total War" (2024) and the final coin in the series - "Cyborg Earth" (2025).
The Coin:
This Coin is the second issue in the “Cyborg Revolution Coin Series", dedicated to a being with both organic and biomechatronic body parts.
In this second edition – titled "Baby Cyborg", the coin has an impressive Ultra High Relief, thanks to the Smartminting Technology, a Black Proof quality and a metallic green colouration.
The coin depicts a Cyborg foetus in the late stages of development, already extensively augmented with technology, and growing inside an artificial environment. What’s being done to the child is yet to be revealed, but it will probably not bode well for the rest of humanity.
The foetus looks like a human baby, but it is made of many circuits connected to wires and is in a convex cyborg placenta.
On the outer periphery is seen the transformation of human cells into cyborg parts, along with the inscriptions: “BABY CYBORG PROJECT 001” and “2022” – the year of issue (at centre right).
The Obverse of the Coin is common to the series and features a concentric pattern of wires and cables.
