On 19.05.2023, the Israel Coins and Medals Corporation (ICMC) has will issue, the 13th Gold Bullion Coin in the "Jerusalem of Gold", which features the Jerusalam Theatre

The Jerusalem Theatre is located in the heart of the Talbieh neighborhood of Jerusalem, quite close to the Presidential Mansion. 

The Theatre building, which has been proclaimed a special edifice designated for preservation, is a unique architectural structure, serving as an important cultural center.

In 1958, a contest for the architectural design of the theatre building was announced by the Jerusalem Municipality. 

In 1964, the first cornerstone was laid down and, seven years later, in 1971, the new building was inaugurated with a 970-seat hall.

Since its inception, the Jerusalem Theatre has become the largest center in Israel for culture and art, where the finest of stage, screen and visual arts are presented. 

In addition, the Theatre excels in musical performances - it is home to the Jerusalem Symphonic Orchestra, as well as, to leading dance groups, both from Israel and abroad, and independent artists. 

Each year, nearly a million people come to enjoy hundreds of performances, be it drama with suspense, comedy with laughter, ever-loved classic plays or modern Israeli stage plays.

The Header/Banner showcases the 13th Gold Bullion coin's vibrant design and depicts the Obverse and Reverse of the Gold Coin depicting the Lion of Megiddo on the Obverse and The Jerusalem Theatre on the Reverse.

The coin is part of the ongoing “Jerusalem of Gold” series, which is in its 13th year

The 20 NIS Gold Bullion Coin Series Header:

A Banner/Header titled "Jerusalem of Gold Numismatic Bullion Coin Series" showcases the Obverse of the 20 NIS Gold Bullion Coin.

The Reverse of the 20 NIS (New Israeli Shekel) Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) Gold Bullion Coin's vibrant design depicts the Jerusalem Theatre facade, showing the artistic stone and concrete elements of the building. 

Above is the face value and mint year in English and Hebrew, and the Star of David mintmark. The left border is inscribed with the gold fineness and weight, and the upper right border, with the word "Jerusalem" in English, Hebrew and Arabic. 

 To its right is the coin’s face value or denomination of 20 "NEW SHEKELS" inscribed in English, Hebrew, and Arabic, along with the coin’s year of issue "2023". 

The "Star of David Mintmark", of the Holy Land Mint which denotes the coin’s quality as Brilliant Uncirculated (BU), and on the Coin's upper left periphery is mentioned the coin’s fineness of "1 OZ. FINE GOLD .9999 GOLD". 

On the Obverse of the 20 NIS (New Israeli Shekel)  Gold Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) Coin is depicted the Lion of Megiddo with its stylised curved tail taken from an ancient 8th Century BC seal excavated in Megiddo (Armageddon) in the Jordan Valley, that belonged to Shema, servant of King Jeroboam II.

Above the lion is engraved the Israel State Emblem and below it is mentioned "Israel" (in English, Hebrew and Arabic).
