More about EUROPA Postage Stamps:
EUROPA Postage stamps (also known as Europa - CEPT - European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations - until 1992) are special stamps issued by European Postal Administrations/Enterprises and bears the official EUROPA logo, a PostEurop registered trademark under the aegis of PostEurop in which Europe is the central theme.
EUROPA stamps underline cooperation in the posts domain, aimed at promotion of philately. They also build awareness of the common roots, culture and history of Europe and its common goals.
As such, EUROPA stamp issues are among the most collected and most popular stamps in the world.
Since the first issue in 1956, EUROPA stamps have been a tangible symbol of Europe's desire for closer integration and co-operation.
In 1993, PostEurop became responsible for issuing EUROPA stamps.
When CEPT decided to focus more on telecommunications in 1993, PostEurop took over the management of the Europa issues. The CEPT logo was replaced by a new logo created by PostEurop i.e. the word "EUROPA" leaning towards the right hand side.
Each year, PostEurop's "Stamps & Philately Group" selects the EUROPA stamp theme:

About Europa 2022 - "Stories and Myths" Stamp issued by Correos Espana (Spanish Post):
PostEurop stamp theme for 2022 is "Stories and Myths".
The EUROPA Stamp issued by Correos Espana (Spanish Post) features the legend of the Sa Dragonera and its small "dragons" - guardians of the Island - the "Sargantanas" or "Lilford Lizards":
Correos Espana (Spanish Post) has issued on 09.05.2022, EUROPA stamps depicting the "Legend of "Sa Dragonera".
The Legend/Myths - Background:
In the southwest of the island of Mallorca is the legendary island of "Sa Dragonera".
The island is about four kilometers long and one wide.
Between the 14th and 16th centuries it served as a hideout for corsairs, pirates and smugglers.
A Nature Park since 1995, home to species such as the disappeared monk seal, today its inhabitants are twenty endemic species such as Eleanor's falcons, cormorants and seagulls, which build their nests on its high cliffs.
Also, following the line of the myth that surrounds it, there are many small “dragons”, guardians of the area: the sargantanas or Lilford lizards, an endemic species of Mallorca and Menorca. They are similar to geckos and during the warmer months they can be seen as soon as they land on the most uninhabited islands in the area.
"Sa Dragonera" takes its name from its own silhouette. If one flies over the island, the image shows the figure of a sleeping dragon.
The legend of the dragon speaks of this mythological animal, snakes and all kinds of reptiles that protect Mallorca from unwanted invaders.
The island of Sa Dragonera invites visitors to explore a still virgin territory where they can enjoy its wildest side both on land and in the sea, where diving becomes one of its greatest attractions.
