3798) "75. Berlinale", Federal Republic of Germany: A 20 Euro Collector Coin marks the 75^th Anniversary of the world renowned Film Festival: Date/Year of Coin issue: 23.01.2025:

To mark its 75th anniversary, the 20 Euro Silver Coin features the film festival, which is a place of artistic debate and entertainment, a driving force for innovation and an important economic factor.

The Coin:

The design by artist Anna Steinmann, a composition in the distribution of the coin's background and motif, directs the view from the cinema audience onto a screen with a colourful Berlinale logo.

The bear and the number 75 shine in the spotlight, while the “BERLINALE” lettering breaks through the cone of light and divides the A into superimposed and inlaid lettering.

The linear motif impresses with its depth and elegance. The value side harmonises finely with the image side, the central eagle is a worthy interpretation of the royal symbol.

The Obverse Design of the 10 Euro Coin. The peripheral inscription reads - 'BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND. 20 EURO." The Eagle Emblem also features in the Centre.

The Berlinale is one of the largest public festivals in the world and attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year. For the film industry and the press, the Berlinale is one of the most important events in the annual calendar and an indispensable trading centre. It was founded in 1951, at the beginning of the Cold War, as a ‘showcase of the free world’ for the Berlin public.
