3962) "TT Assen", Netherlands: 100 years Anniversary (1925-2025): A 10 Euro Gold Proof Coin issued by the Royal Dutch Mint (RDM): Date/Year of Coin issue: 2025:
100 years TT Assen:
For 100 years, Assen and racing have been inextricably linked.
The first race was held in 1925 and since the start of the official world championship in 1949, the TT Assen has been on the agenda continuously.
The circuit on which the race is held, also known as the "Cathedral of Speed", has been altered and upgraded several times in 100 years, but the start/finish line has remained unchanged since 1926!
The venue has the distinction of holding the most Grand Prix motorcycle races every year (except 2020) since the series was created in 1949.
It has a capacity of 110,000 spectators, including 60,000 seats.
Since 1992, the circuit has also been part of the World SBK calendar except for the 2020 season.
The TT Assen is not only a sporting event, but also an iconic part of motorsport history. In 1925, the first race was held on the bumpy dirt roads between Rolde, Borger and Schoonloo. Now, 100 years later, the races are still taking place in Assen.
Not only the annual MotoGP takes place at the circuit in Assen:
Throughout the year there are almost two hundred events: from various championships to other major public events.
Fortunately, the circuit can count on 1500 volunteers from all over the country who are fully committed.
The biggest race fans have been coming to the races for generations: some have been visiting the races for more than 60 years!
Official 10 Euro commemorative Golden Coin for 100 years TT Assen:
A unique commemorative coin is launched by the Royal Dutch Mint: the 100 years TT Assen 10 Euro Coin in Gold Proof.
The Coin Design:
The 100 years TT Assen 10 Euro Coin in Gold Proof was
designed by artist duo Alex Jacobs and Ellemieke Schoenmaker.
