The Obverse and Reverse of the Silver Bullion Coins presented against a majestic Wedge-tailed Eagle perched on a branch with its wings outstretched.
The Perth Mint has released its latest silver bullion coins, which are part of the Wedge-tailed Eagle Coin Series featuring designs of this majestic predator raptor indigenous to Australia.
This is the eighth wedge-tailed eagle design by American medallist John M. Mercanti, who was the 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint.

The Obverse and Reverse of the $1 (One dollar) Silver Bullon Coin
The Reverse of the $1 (One Dollar) Silver Bullion Coin features a representation of a wedge-tailed eagle designed by John M. Mercanti.
The magnificent bird is standing on a branch with its vast wings outstretched.
This face of the Coin also bears the inscription - "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE" (on the upper periphery) and The Perth Mint’s "P" mintmark (on the lower periphery).
Also included at bottom left is the coin’s weight, fineness, and year date - "2023. 1 OZ. 9999. SILVER".
The Obverse of the $1 (One Dollar) Silver Bullion Coin also features a right facing effigy of Late Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark, whose initials "JC" appear on the Queen's shoulder.
The peripheral inscription is - ELIZABETH II. 1952 – 2022. AUSTRALIA".
As an additional security application, the coins incorporate an authentication feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter. Detectable under a magnifying glass, it is designed to make it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited.
