2396) "Memory", Niue Island: "End Of Humanity Coin Series": First Coin in the Series minted by the Carpathian Mint depicts a post apocalyptic world scenario, looking at the end of human civilisation: Date of Coin issue: 2022:

The Header/Banner shows the Reverse of the $5 (Five Dollars - NZD) titled "Memory" the first issue in the Coin Series titled - "END OF HUMANITY"

Numerous TV shows like "The Walking Dead", "Westworld", and "The 100",  and movies like "Mad Max", "Armageddon", "Wall-E etc., as well as, countless novels, all deal with the end of humanity

The imagination expended on this topic is quite amazing. Everything from alien invasion ("War of the Worlds"), natural disaster, disease, war, and the breakdown of civilisation, are all popular themes which fascinate us.

This Coin from the Carpathian Mint stable does just that. It depicts a scenario which deals with the "End of Humanity", with the issue of the first coin in the Coin Series titled - "MEMORY"..

The Coin:

This first issue titled "Memory", is a 3D depiction by Ukrainian artist Yuriy Tikhonovsky.

On the Reverse of the $5 (Five Dollars - NZD) Silver Coin, is depicted a post-apocalyptic city, devoid of humans. It features a child’s robotic companion, standing atop a wrecked School Bus, looking forlornly at a child’s stuffed toy floating on the unchecked floodwaters that have engulfed the city.

Abandoned buildings, dead street lights, traffic signals, shops all wear the forlorn look of a ghost city.

Nature has already started to reclaim the city, with plant life appearing everywhere amidst the devastation.

The Coin Series title "END OF HUMANITY" is integrated into the scene on a pair of road signs at top right, as is the title of the Coin - "MEMORY".

The scene is symbolic of  a wrecked planet in the aftermath of an apocalypse…

The foreground scene is picked out with colour, the rest antique-finished.

The Obverse of the $5 (Five Dollars - NZD) Silver Coin is also antique-finished, and depicts what could be a cause for the destruction of human society - nuclear weapons.

Tellingly, the hand that flipped the switch is that of a robot, controlled by an "Artificial Intelligence", to suggest that, perhaps, humans have created a system to help manage human society, which then decided it would be better off without humans.

The inscriptions are - "NIUE. 2022" (on the upper periphery) and "ELIZABETH II" above the Queen's head at centre right. On the lower periphery is the denomination of the coin - "5 DOLLARS".

The specification of the $5 Silver Coin are:
