Uitgeverij DAVO is a publishing house in Deventer, which specialises in making and publishing philatelic supplies, but also numismatic articles. From the early nineties, fulfilment has been added: the logistical link between companies and consumers.

The evolution of the Company:

The company originated from the activities of Karel Berghuijs senior, an avid collector who started a stamp business in 1942.

With the many Dutch stamps that he had kept during the German occupation of the Netherlands, he was able to compile a compilation album, which he published in 1945 under the title "Nederlandsche Postzegels" in den Oorlog 1940–1945. 

He could exchange this with Allied soldiers for scarce products such as nylon stockings, chocolate and cigarettes.

DAVO uses 1945 as the beginning of the publishing house. 

From 1946 onwards, Berghuijs released a series of pre-printed country albums, starting with Belgian stamps.

Berghuijs senior passed away in 1989, but the business activities had already been taken over by his sons Karel and Toon around 1980.

In 2004, the publishing house moved into a new building on the Hunneperkade on the Bergweide industrial estate in Deventer. 

In 2009, the family business was taken over by Albert Ploeger.

DAVO Fulfilment Services:

Since the early nineties, DAVO has not only been active in the field of philately, but also in fulfilment.

DAVO Fulfilment Services provides storage, order picking and shipping of e-commerce orders for various webshops. These activities arose from the philatelic cooperation with collectors' organisations, TPG Post and other postal services.

Davo Publishers have since developed into a leading enterprise with activities in more than 70 countries and territories where they have developed albums of high quality and of excellent execution which are available for collectors. 

Besides stamp albums, DAVO have developed a complete assortment of products, on behalf of the collector such as:
