4399) 40 years of its “Status Aparte” and "50 years Flag and National Anthem", Aruba: A 5 Florin Silver Commemorative Proof-like Coin issued by the Royal Dutch Mint (RDM), Netherlands: Date/Year of Coin issue: 2026:
In 2026, Aruba will celebrate two special milestones:
40 years of its “Status Aparte” and "50 years Flag and National Anthem".
Silver 5 Florin Commemorative Coin:
In 2026, Aruba will celebrate two special milestones: 40 years of its “Status Aparte” and 50 years Flag and National Anthem.
On January 1, 1986, Aruba became an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This status apart was a significant moment for the country, and now, four decades later, Aruba has further strengthened its identity.
The island is also celebrating 50 years Flag and National Anthem.
The Aruban flag, introduced on March 18, 1976, is light blue with a red, four-pointed star and two yellow stripes.
- The light blue symbolises the sea and the sky.
- The four-pointed star represents the four languages spoken on the island (Papiamento, Dutch, Spanish, and English).
- The two stripes represent the “Status Aparte” and tourism.
- The Aruban National Anthem - "Aruba Dushi Tera" ("Aruba, Blessed Land"), was adopted as the official anthem on March 18, 1976.
A special milestone for Aruba this year! The island is celebrating not only 40 years of Status Aparte, but also 50 years of the flag and national anthem.
These important events have been immortalized on a coin: the Aruba 5 Florin '40 Years of Status Aparte and 50 Years of Flag and National Anthem'.
The Coin:
This festive commemorative coin is unique because it depicts no fewer than two milestones.
Additionally, the coin features various colour elements and includes several beautiful references to both the "Status Aparte" and the "Flag" and "National Anthem".
On the Reverse of the Five Florin Silver Proof-like Coin, in Papiamento, is written '40 aña status aparte + 50 aña himno y bandera'. At the bottom is 'Aruba'.
On the Obverse of the Five Florin Silver Proof-like Coin, the Coat of Arms of Aruba with 'Aruba 2026' on the right side are depicted.
The specifications of this Coin are:
Metal Composition: 925/1000 Fineness Silver (Ag); Weight: 25.00 g; Diameter/Size: 38.00 mm; Coin Quality: Prooflike; Nominal value: 5 Aruban Florin; Mintage: 700 pieces; Edge lettering: DIOS*TA*CU*NOS*
