Central Bank of Brazil - 60th Anniversary Celebrations:
The Central Bank of Brazil celebrated its 60th anniversary in April 2025, marking six decades since it began operations in April 1965. The milestone was commemorated with official ceremonies, a special almanaque (historical publication), and the release of a commemorative R$1 coin.
The Banco Central do Brasil marked its 60th anniversary in 2025 by issuing a special commemorative R$1 coin, with over 23 million units minted for circulation. The coin features a unique anniversary design on the obverse and was also released in a collector’s “coin card” edition by the Casa da Moeda do Brasil.
The Brazilian Mint brought out this Coin Card on 27.07.2025, which was contained in an exclusive card containing the commemorative coin in honour of the 60th Anniversary of the Central Bank of Brazil, an essential institution for the economic stability and monetary policy of the country.
The coin, which entered circulation in July 2025, was part of the actions promoted by the Central Bank with the aim of celebrating and sharing its history.
With a face value of R$1, the piece has the same dimensions and thickness of a conventional coin of the same denomination.
The Coin:

On the Obverse (front) of the R$1 Bimetallic Coin:
On this face the commemorative stamp of the 60th anniversary of the Central Bank, accompanied by the mark of the monetary authority and elegant diagonal lines that give sophistication to design.

The design displays:
- Standard design of the second series of the Real
- Numerical denomination “1 REAL” with geometric patterns and the Southern Cross constellation
- Mintage: 23,168,000 units.
The Coin Card Edition:

Alongside the circulating coin, the Casa da Moeda do Brasil (Brazilian Mint) issued a special coin card.
This collector’s card contains the commemorative coin and highlights the Central Bank’s role in Brazil’s economic stability and monetary policy.
It was released as part of the broader anniversary celebrations, it serves as a keepsake for collectors and institutions.
With a limited run of only 10 thousand units, this launch is an unmissable opportunity for collectors, numismatics enthusiasts and citizens celebrate the memory of one of the most important institutions in the country.
Each card represents not just a collector's piece, but a tribute to the legacy, credibility and the contribution of the Central Bank to the development of the Brazil.
