Belgium 2 euro coin 2026 '100 years SNCB' BU in coin NL
This year,
SNCB celebrates its 100th anniversary... 100 years already a central link in
Belgian mobility. Since 1926, the National Railway Company of Belgium (SNCB)
has played an essential role in the economic and social landscape of Belgium,
with a clear ambition: sustainable and accessible mobility for all.
SNCB is celebrating the anniversary throughout 2026 with numerous activities. The coming months will be dedicated to music and culture, and two of the workshops will exceptionally open their doors to the general public. Plenty of opportunities to get to know the railways and SNCB in a different way, to share stories and to celebrate together what connects us today and tomorrow.
100 Years –
the journey continues ……..
The Coin:
In the centre is the anniversary logo of SNCB: the number 100, displayed in train tracks, where the zeros form the symbol for infinity, which stands for continuous movement, connection and an uninterrupted journey.
A locomotive from 1926 and a train from 2026 emerge from the logo.
This first 2 Euro coin of 2026 is offered to you in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU), in Proof quality and in Reverse Proof quality. The BU issue is in a thematic coin card that fits the corporate identity of the 100 years of SNCB.
In addition to the now well-known Proof version, in a limited edition of only 4,000 pieces, an extra particularly coveted collector's item has been added to the range this time: the Reverse Proof quality. All high-altitude relief elements are highly polished and the flat background is matted for a special effect. These will also be in great demand outside the country. Proof, reverse Proof or BU, the choice is for the Collector.
